In October, my graphics card died. One minute I am humming along and the next my i7 machine refuses to art. Or start up. Also, my ancient HP1315 printer/scanner developed issues that ended up making it unusable.

*Deep breath*

For everyone who has believed in me and my books, please accept my thanks and my humble apologies. I do not have it in my budget to fix this issue currently.

I will continue publishing new art here, using my graphics tablet, at Deviant Art until I can find an answer to this problem.

The next Roaches book is titled Kingdom in Crisis or KIC for short. This is a short story about a war for control of the insect kingdom. This will be on Smack Jeeves and my own web site for the Roaches book series. The first chapter is tentatively set for a late summer release as a webcomic. That is on for late August. You can see rough previews here on Deviant Art and at the dedicated web site for the time being.

Early this year, I took on remodeling a house built in the 1950's and then moved just this month. I also work in two family businesses regularly. That has put the kibosh on the work that I have to get finished on my next web comic. I am determined to get more of it finished. Finding the time is hard part.

Here's a look at the roughs for the first 20 pages:

The big splash from my first book really surprised me. After completing it - it kept me busy for two years at cons and promoting it in stores and on-line. As fun as it was, a better book idea was yet to come. Kingdoms is medieval era style story of large insect kingdoms going to war with one another.

At cons, as I spoke with other comic creators from Indy, Chicago and Ohio the more I wanted to do a straight-forward narrative. A few of their criticisms about the art and structure made sense to me. The first book was a collection of one-off gags and not a true linear story. The art also needed more details in the color/shading departments.

I've put together a story that demolishes the one or two part gag structure in the previous book. This one moves through brand new settings with rendered, polished art. It's a humor book w/a lot of action. It's like a world war conducted mainly by circus clowns. You guys are gonna like it.

Kingdoms is coming in 2018 - er uh - make that in 2019. It features the main character from book one in an widely expanded world. This book will be an all-ages title. I will be releasing the first chaptersas a webcomic at Smack Jeeves and doing a print run later on.
